Boutique Tour | Ivory + Beau

Open since January of 2014, Ivory + Beau is not your typical bridal boutique! It’s a special place where the boutique’s owners, Adrienna and Nicole, combine extraordinary wedding planning, fabulous wedding gowns, and stylish florals for an unforgettable bridal experience! Today, Adrienna and Nicole are giving us a tour of Ivory + Beau with these beautiful images from M. Newsom Photography. Enjoy!

Tell us how Ivory + Beau came to be.

Nicole and I both worked in bridal, and me at David’s Bridal! She was a wedding planner as well, and I had worked in a boutique that had just closed down. I joined her on a styled shoot in St. Augustine, and on the drive down we talked about combining forces and opening a shop! We knew Savannah needed something new and fresh, and catered to the relaxed, bohemian and romantic bride. A few months later we opened!

What was the inspiration for the interior design and styling of your boutique?

We wanted a boutique that was laid back and relaxed, not stuffy like some bridal shops tend to be. We didn’t want the traditional pale walls and white furniture either, we wanted to use our cool industrial space and huge windows to our advantage! We got all of our furniture from thrift stores around the area, and have an eclectic mix of colors and textures. Each sitting area has it’s own mix of pillows and colors. Throughout the shop we have images of real brides, as well as flowers and bouquets we have done before. Along the top of our racks are dozens of bottles and vases we have collected for weddings. We want our brides to walk in and be inspired!

How would you describe an Ivory + Beau bride?

Beautiful. Carefree. Madly in love.

Take us through a typical day at Ivory + Beau.

We normally get to the shop an hour or more before it opens, to get the store ready for our brides, and work on emails! Since we also do wedding planning and flowers, we always have a ton of emails and meetings, so each day is so different! We have an amazing team that helps us get through each crazy day at the shop.

What are your top three tips for brides who are searching for the perfect wedding gown?

Be open minded! Sometimes you see all of these gowns on Pinterest, but when you try those styles, you don’t love it. Try on different shapes, you never know what you are going to like!

Bring important people with you. Often times we get a bride who comes in with just friends, but not her mom, grandma, dad, aunt etc. who’s opinion means the most. It’s so important to bring these people with you, since you never know when you’re going to find the one!

Know your budget. We often get brides who find a gown on Pinterest that is $5000+ but want it for their $1000 budget. There are gorgeous gowns in every price point, so do some research and find styles you love in the price you want.

If you could give Savannah brides one piece of advice, what would it be?

Have fun planning your wedding! So many brides get stressed and put pressure on their wedding being perfect. Enjoy your time as an engaged couple, and have fun planning. It’s such a fun day that goes by in a flash!
