Downtown Savannah Wedding
A handsome Australian lad marries a regal New York lady in the charming southern city of Savannah? Even Nicholas Sparks couldn’t script a more swoon-worthy romance than today's joyful couple! Sarah plays viola for an opera, but you’d almost believe she’s a professional bride and her groom is a dashing prince by looking at these beautiful images captured by LeiLani of Elle Golden Photography.
"Sarah began the day with a private bridal boudoir session. I was thrilled with her secret plans to incorporate a mini boudoir session before she put on her wedding dress. She planned to surprise Jonathan on their first anniversary (paper!) with a little black book of all the images. What a perfect gift and wise use of an already “dolled up” day!
I adored Jonathan and Sarah’s unique ceremony which incorporated traditions from Quaker and Mennonite religions. But my favorite part? The couple being able to laugh off a scare after Jonathan fainted at the altar! Later that night, Jonathan’s brother joked during a speech that this groom always passes out when his bride enters a room thanks to her sheer beauty! Another memorable part of the wedding day was when Sarah’s uncle planned to bring a restored vintage car from out of state as the couple’s getaway car. But when a problem arose preventing delivery of the car, he surprised the newlyweds with a horse-drawn carriage instead! The newlyweds spent their first married hour riding around Savannah, taking photos in the picturesque squares (including a stop at Savannah’s Columbia Square where the couple got engaged) and reflecting on their ceremony. I wish every couple had that sort of “slow down” mode built into their wedding so they can truly soak up the day together. I am forever grateful Jonathan and Sarah invited me to document not only their wedding day, but their precious moments alone as well." - LeiLani, Photographer
